Transfer to UCLA, USC, or Michigan

I am currently a 1L from Michigan. I am at a t-20 school, but am not very happy with my current situation here. I received exactly median grades first semester.
Hopefully I can do even better this coming semester, but if the situation holds, would I be competitive at transferring to UCLA, USC, or Michigan? I am only looking into these schools because I want to go into entertainment law (being in LA would be helpful) or would like to be closer to home.

Entertainment law likely waved bye-bye to you long ago. Transferring to one of these schools would be a terrible idea for that purpose (and for probably any other purpose). UCLA or USC at sticker debt is straight unjustifiable. If you kept costs down for 1L, get into Michigan (doubtful with your grades?), and want to practice in Michigan, then -- maybe -- I could see the merit in transferring, but many on this board would probably advise against it, assuming you have a good scholarship at your current school.

Thank you for the response and that is definitely something to consider. All money and career odds aside, from a strictly numerical POV, do I have a shot?

I've heard of WUSTL median kids transferring to Michigan (I'm like directly quoting something i read on this forum three days ago). I would echo above about USC or UCLA - unless your paying sticker at GW then IF you get in - it may be worth it.
