Many elite schools will enroll smaller classes versus dropping too many points in LSAT. Smaller 1L classes =easier transfer cycle. Enjoy the good times!

Wouldn't data for the previous year have more impact on the upcoming round of transfer applications (specifically size of the classes that matriculated in Fall 2014 rather than the size of the applicant pool for Fall 2015 matriculation)? Or are you proposing that, in the face of continued decreases in applicants, the schools will take a larger transfer class this coming cycle to make up for what will likely be a smaller 1L class?

It's the later. But having sat in on budget committees for two law school I'd almost say it's not really a proposition, I think it is going to happen. You guys are going to see much bigger transfer classes.

What does that mean grade wise? Are top schools going to lower the bar for transfer students to make some quick cash? I heard UT was taking top 50% from T1's last year.

Beware the anecdata. Taking a top 50% from a T1 ≠ taking top 50% from T1s. If they did (and I don't know if they did), it was likely with other factors involved.

This. As a UT transfer I can tell you that if there is a top 50% T1 transfer, they are an outlier.

This. As a UT transfer I can tell you that if there is a top 50% T1 transfer, they are an outlier.
top 50% T20 -> MVP happened last year. HLS dipped a bit more than they did in previous years. GULC dipped too.

Spivey: any general "insider" sense of what kind of ranking is required to be competitive at Harvard or Stanford from a mid/lower tier 1?
Also, where are U Idaho's 57 transfers coming from??

Well, I asked my business partner who was at Harvard Law for 12 years, she says starting at 20% and getting better is where you need to be. Obviously the greater the class rank/percentile the better.

That's less stringent than I expected (though, I should have clarified that my mid/lower T1 = 30's/40's, not teens or 20's). Thanks for the info as always.
