Awkward Situation

I gave a verbal commitment to Berkeley that would require me to withdraw my other pending applications. I didn't and now want to go to one of the schools I was accepted to. How should I let Berkeley know? Will there be any repercussions?

I would be very cautious in how you handle this. The BAR will for sure nail you for this

Verbal commitment, I wouldn't worry much. If it was in writing, that may be worth losing a little sleep over.

I'd let them know as a courtesy. Something came up and I won't be able to attend. In crim. law verbal plea deals are revoked all the time by prosecutors whether it be new facts, politics, etc. It isn't something C&F cares about, or else there wouldn't be enough prosecutors to keep the justice system alive. I think there was also a thread where people made the case that the Berkeley pledge violated LSAC regulations anyway.
