Chicago vs. Penn vs. NYU

Unless logic games have completely failed me, I think those are all of the combinations (below). Some notes: OP has strong NY ties, wants to do NY biglaw for a year, but also desires high quality of student life (Penn) and exposure to academia, prestige, etc. (Chicago). Transferring from T2.

Thanks!!!

Chicago vs. Penn: ?

Chicago vs. NYU: ?

NYU vs. Penn: ?

Either flame thread or you're just a dummy who can't find ABA employment disclosures.

Edit: Yo Comrade (can I just call you that instead of ymmv?), I have a slight feeling that this is an 0L who got accepted into a T2 and plans on "rocking 1L" so he or she "can totally transfer" to one of the above.

No Ivy love?

I gather that you would attend according to school rank with a possible switch between NYU and Chicago.

From a cold, heartless, impersonal standpoint, I would go with NYU if you want to practice in NYC after you graduate. That being said, only you can determine how much you value the quality of life at U Penn or the more academic reputation of U Chicago. If you decide to go to U Penn or U Chicago for personal reasons rather than objective reasons, no one should fault you for doing so. Just make sure you know what you're giving up (i.e., slightly better odds of getting into NYC BigLaw) and are OK with that.

Well, well, well... thank you for understanding.

No. I care about one thing: job placement.

You said you wanted NYC. So I chose the school that puts more graduates into NYC big law when compared to the other two. Also, student quality of life is super subjective. And a half-baked reason to choose a school. I think you'll enjoy any of the above schools. I would choose NYU also because then you'd have an apartment in the city already for your 2L SA.
