Lol I ain't gonna argue the term. The point is I know of people IRL who have pieced together identities from posting history. And there are way more people who lurk at my school than post.

Probably a dozen people have figured out who I am. I don't even really try anymore. What's worse is that I deservedly have the same reputation for being an excitable talker at law school. It's just a character trait I can't kill.

transfers i met in real life are fine people, but transfers on tls are terrible.

This is only sometimes true. Most transfer students into, e.g., T6 schools where a substantial majority of people have no difficulty obtaining a summer associate position or post-graduate employment have a perfectly fine time. Everyone is relaxed because everyone has theirs. But when there are fewer jobs to be had, then transfer students are viewed as "taking jobs away" from homegrown students, and resentment emerges.
