Hello,

If I deposit at a school and indicate that I intend to enroll, do I have to notify my current school right away? I am not 100% if I will be transferring but the deadline to deposit is quickly approaching and I want to deposit while waiting for other offers.

Thanks

you're not required/expected to inform your current school until you are 100% set on leaving

I told my dean (who had also been one of my 1L profs) as soon as I was 100% decided, but that didn't trickle down. As a result, I ended up telling the registrar about two weeks into the semester when they started emailing me about my overdue tuition.

So are you saying that you may want to go ahead and accept school 1, but if you find out you got into school 2, drop school 1?

I know some letters claim to be binding, but I don't know how they can really enforce that.
