Why would staying at UMN help get a clerkship?Jchance wrote:want BigLaw: NYU
want clerk: stay
which one do u want more?
given the current number+LR, and assuming the same trend, OP would be competitive for clerkship if staying.Tanicius wrote: Why would staying at UMN help get a clerkship?
Hmmmm....not even close to being the same argument.heavoldgotjuice wrote:why is this a thread?

Please go to NYU if you want big law.atwardow wrote:If you have no connections in the markets you'd like to practice in, transferring to NYU would probably be a better idea. But top 10% + Law Review would go a long ways in OCI.
Why do transfer candidates say the most retarded stuff? Minnesota is not your SoFla shithole, fyi.heavoldgotjuice wrote:why is this a thread?

This decision comes down to whether or not you want to work in Minneapolis/St Paul. If so, the clear answer is to stay: $12k/yr + in-state tuition and very low CoL will still save you a ton of money over sticker living in manhattan. Moreover, local firms won't even show up to NYU OCI so all your networking & applications would be targeted to your UMN record anyway.
If you want biglaw anywhere other than Minnesota and its surrounding states, NYU is the clear choice.
That's exactly what I said.heavoldgotjuice wrote:johnnyquest wrote:+1ymmv wrote:Shut up shut up shut up shut up SHUT UP.heavoldgotjuice wrote:why is this a thread?

Well obviously you all are in the minority with 1/3 of the votes. If OP wants to live and work in Minnesota, then have at it... but he doesn't, so why would he stay?

At some point I guess I realized my time could be better spent than in writing substantive rebuttals to your dumb shit.heavoldgotjuice wrote:ymmv wrote:Shut up shut up shut up shut up SHUT UP.heavoldgotjuice wrote:why is this a thread?

and fuck you, you never add substance either but always have you head up your ass.
