I thought there was a thread about this somewhere but I made the mistake of not bookmarking it. I was wondering what the consensus was on type of courses to take when coming in as a transfer. Since there's no GPA to mitigate I'm looking for recommendations on what the balance between standard/seminar type courses should look like.

I would take a minimal load--probably no more than one hour above the minimum required--focus on getting used to the new school, OCI, write-on to the extent its available/being considered, and outside job search. I would hold off on a seminar just because you should not have to worry about a paper while looking for a job, which is what you should be doing. Also, if you get on a journal at the new school, you'll already have a note to work on, but that's cart before horse stuff.
