What region is your law school in now? Any money from the TTTT? Need more information.

But I highly doubt that going from a TTTT to Brooklyn would give you any real benefit.

Are you getting any money from your current school, 'or would it otherwise be much cheaper to stay at your current school? Are you sure to make law review at your current school? Are there any other opportunities at your current school that you would be missing out on?

If the answer to all of these questions is no, than it's probably worth it for you to transfer. I'm guessing your situation is a lot more complicated though.

What do you want to do? How good are your grades at the TTTT?

I'm in the top 22% at my TTTT. I have ties to NYC, I interned at the Manhattan DA and also spent a few summers as a law clerk at boutique firm in NJ (where I am originally from). I only have about 10,000/yr in scholarship money currently, and one of the other reasons I'm looking to go back to NYC is because I can cut my costs by moving back home. I would ideally like to go to Cardozo, I'm just worried I won't get in. I'm torn with Brooklyn though because it seems to have really taken a turn for the worst from what I've seen

Stay away from ehhh schools in big cities. I would sweep schools like wakeforest, unc, Houston and SMU. Good luck

I am applying to Fordham as well I just feel like it is a reach. I'm trying to apply broadly and make sure that I have a few schools with a pretty high chance of acceptance. Its just so hard to tell with so little transfer data

If you're not losing any money (or anything else that's that significant) by transferring, then even a small bump up in the ranking of your school may be worth it. That being said, I don't know much about Brooklyn, other than its ranking.

one of my 1L professors seems to think that Brooklyn and my current law school (Suffolk) are not much in different in terms of reputation. But I feel like Brooklyn is at least more respected and more well-known...no?

That's my guess, but I'm not too familiar with either school. That being said, Brooklyn does have better job stats at LST (compare http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/brooklyn/2013/ with http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/suffolk/2013/), and a significantly higher percentage of Brooklyn's grads are employed in NY, so I imagine they have a better alumni network in NYC if that's where you ultimately want to work.

Something to think about: Would you feel better saying for the rest of your life that you went to Brooklyn law school? Or would you feel comfortable and reasonably proud saying that you graduated from Suffolk?

Some questions like this will come down to a matter of personal preference. Considering that individuals will ask you for years to come "where did you go to law school," you should be comfortable with the reputation of the school and the answer you are able to provide.

Hi, by any chance did you get into brooklyn or fordham?
I'm in the same position looking to transfer except I'm top 6%.

Any advice/information would be great.
Thanks!
