Lucky enough to have parents flipping the bill, so pay no attention to COA.

Preference goes like this:

LA Big Law

(big gap)

NY Big Law
LA Medium
NY Medium

Nope, no ties other than spending 1L in SoCal.

Have you ever experienced a Michigan winter? Makes it a bit easier to turn down haha. Not crazy, go for your target region.

If COA is equal you should go to Michigan. You'll be glad you did and it'll get you back to CA. Sober argument.

Did the anonymous OP just out himself?

I'd roll with one of the LA schools to (hopefully) establish ties. Big law chances aren't amazing so hopefully you have a non-big law backup you're totes cool with.

Whichever you prefer. They're peers.

What would your advice have been two years ago?

I don't understand why one year's worth of data is determinative.
