If you have applied to transfer, how long was your personal statement? Some schools ask for 2 pages, Berkeley asks for 4.

Honest question, but why would you turn in a single-spaced essay when schools generally ask for double-spaced? I know that Stanford doesn't specify, but it seems gutsy to assume otherwise.Valera wrote:Mine was 2 pages, single spaced, but with space between the paragraphs.
It's not a bad question. Honestly it didn't occur to me until now. They didn't ask, and I liked the content that I had written and couldn't figure out a way to cut it down without losing information. Two pages double-space is very little room. I added the space between paragraphs for readability. I have a really hard time believing that single-spacing would be the reason I wouldn't be admitted, when they didn't specify they wanted single-space.Anonymous User wrote:Honest question, but why would you turn in a single-spaced essay when schools generally ask for double-spaced?
