Transferring from Brooklyn Law
Hey guys,
Just received my rank today, 119/347 or 34%.
Went to Boston University undergrad, had 2 legal internships during undergrad, and currently intern for a NYS Supreme Court Judge.
What are my chances to transfer out of Brooklyn Law into Fordham, BU, or BC?
Really have no idea, would like some guidance before I begin the process. Thanks everyone!

I'm not receiving any scholarship money from Brooklyn so I figured it would make sense to try and see what else was out there

I don't know if your grades are high enough to transfer. You have nothing to lose by trying.Tsc402 wrote:Anyone? I really have no idea here. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful!

Trying never hurts, but I think most schools expressly require top 1/3 which you just missed. If your going to try you need to jump on it, because schools have already started filling their open spots.

Are transfer applications traditionally dealt with on a rolling basis? The Fordham website says that they begin considering the applications at the end of July.

Varies from school to school (and I don't even think there's necessarily any pattern such as high-ranked doing post-deadline review/lower-ranked doing rolling).

Only thing trying costs you is time and a few hundred bucks, but I don't think (just shy of) top 1/3 is enough to get you into BU/BC. I know someone at BLS who applied out of BLS last year who was around where you are and was rejected. No idea about Fordham. If you've got money and time to blow, give it a shot, but don't get your hopes up.

I don't think your grades are high enough but you won't know if you don't apply. I say give it a shot.
