1) Any luck at getting any $$ as a transfer?

2) Were you able to get into any classes you wanted or were they all filled by the time registration for transfers rolled around? Also, how well do transfers do in terms of grades?

3) How was OCI? I've heard horror stories, but did any transfers do well with biglaw?

4) Suggestions for best apartments close to the law school?

5) Anybody tried to write on to law review? Anybody know how many transfers they take?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

1) No.

2a) Was able to get in. Recognizing the big transfer class they were going to take, they held seats in popular classes for transfers.

2b) Anecdotally, fairly well. (Note, I don't discuss grades with people much though).

3) CBs but no biglaw offers here. Anecdotally, it sounded like the size of the transfer class may have worked against all transfers to some extent.

4) I'll let someone else chime in on that as I don't live that close.

5) Many tried. They took zero. Which left a lot of us wondering why they bothered to have a transfer write-on; certainly with all of us having to move to Austin we had plenty of better things to do with our time. (That was the first year they've done a transfer write-on). I wouldn't be surprised to see that change this year though -- still don't expect more than one or two.

1) no...this isn't WUSTL
2) getting classes I wanted was no problem at all
I have a 3.7....only waiting on one grade this semester and if it's an A than I will have a 4.0 for the semester....not easy courses either. I only know like one or two transfers below median in terms of grades. So, I think transfer students can do just fine grade wise.
3) OCI was a bitch from what I have heard. I transferred after the bidding deadline and already had something lined up...so Im not really the person to ask
4) Law Review won't take any transfers...the journal write on is great for getting on other journals and meeting people. I am very glad I did it.
