Transfer Prospects

Hello,

Im at a TTTT in the middle of nowhere. I am top 3% at my school, caucasian, limited work experience.

However, I will most likely grade onto Law Review (everyone grade's on with above a 3.2, and I have a 3.8+, so I need C's to drop below).

I am trying out for the Moot Court competition on Friday (slight chance I may get on).

Also, I will be working as an unpaid intern at a Federal Agency this summer and will be a research assistant for a professor (who is also a dean of international affairs).

My dream job is to work in Academia, or be a Judge, or in a Federal Agency

I am looking to transfer to NY or DC (obviously).
I am going to apply to NYU, Georgetown, and George Washington.
I think PENN and Michigan are very nice schools too.

I would like to know everyone's thoughts and also any suggestions on additional schools I should apply to.

Basically, I do not want to apply to every school in the top 20 because I can't afford to spend $75+ on every application, just to be denied to most places. However, if any one has any suggestions on schools you think I may have a chance at considering my stats, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your time everybody!

edit: I am currently paying 35,000k to go to the school I am at. I will most likely be paying about 15,000k after I receive a scholarship because of my performance. And the price of living is pretty expensive here. (just for reference)

I think you should def apply to GULC and GW...i dunno about NYU though. There's no harm in throwing an app there, but if cost is an issue then it might be better to spend the money on a school that's more likely. Granted I don't know how TTTT your current school is, but NYU might be off the table if it's too low. If you maintain your 3% ranking or stay in that general ballpark then it might be possible. Take this with a grain of salt though, I don't know what the chances are like for someone who's making that big of a jump. But congrats on your excellent grades! I think you should 100% transfer given your goals though

Definitely definitely definitely apply to GW and Georgetown. Keep those grades up bud!

GULC is a pretty good bet, but maybe consider something higher. Chicago takes a lot of transfers, I think Columbia does too. Believe it or not, it's worth the $75.

NYU also takes a lot of transfers, and top 3% even at a TTTT might get you in there. Worth the money if it's your top school, since it's not totally out of the question if you keep up those grades.
