Alright guys, my turn:

uGPA: Close to T14 medians
LSAT: Under T14 25th percentile
Rank: Top 1%
Current School: Ranked 26-40
Goals: Live in the Mid-Atlantic (preferably VA), I'd like to clerk postgrad, mid-sized firm (no interest in big law), and possibly public interest after that (I have several years experience prior to LS)
Potential Schools: UVA
History: I applied to UVA initially, but was rejected (duh). Was also not a VA resident at the time. I am now.
Debt if I stay: $85k
Debt if I go: prop ~$150k
1L Summer Job: Federal Judicial Internship
Reasons for staying: pretty much guaranteed law review, lots of great friends, great relationships with professors, just signed a lease (but know of someone who will take it over), keeping my rank, it's not as scary to stay in the short term (but may be for long term job prospects)
Reasons for going: employment prospects, better prestige

What do you suggest?

IDK if big law changes the analysis. Check to see if there's any federal judges from your alma matter. It's possible if there's even 1 federal judge from your school, you might be a shoe in to hit your goals and could prob workout scholarship $. I think most people go W&M:UVA for big law boosting. IDK about mid-law/clerkship.

Apply to transfer to UVA. If you keep that GPA, then I recommend NYU, CLS, and HLS as well. You should really take advantage of that LSGPA because where ever you transfer to in the T14 will provide you better opportunities than your current school.

should be good for UVA and that would probably be ideal if you want to work in VA.

If you want clerkship and PI you should definitely be applying to HLS.
