I'm not sure how the numbers game works for lateral transfers...

I'm at a T1 school in the top 11% and would like to transfer to a school that is actually tied in the rankings with my current school for geographic reasons and for my S/O's job.

Will being ranked well be a lock for a lateral transfer?

Yes, but you are pissing away that GPA if you strike out during 2L OCI. Guess what I'm saying is if you want firm work be careful.
