Top Law Schools

Hoping to garner insight from people who have transferred as to when I should start preparing to apply to transfer. In particular, when is the best time to approach professors for LoR's. Also, would it be a bad idea to approach a professor who I will have for the rest of this semester (year long class)? My Spring grades probably won't be released until early June and transferring is obviously contingent on how I do. How do I handle the grades not being out but still wanting to apply to schools on the day applications open? Also, are admissions 'rolling' ?

Finally, would you mind predicting my chances? Top ~20% at NCG to HLS / CLS / NYU.
