Hi all,

Aiming for Big Law in a warm climate - I was admitted on transfer to Michigan, Berkeley and Duke. I am strongly leaning towards Duke. Thoughts?

Thanks!

What do you mean by warm climate? California, Southwest in general? Seems like Berkeley would be tough to beat.

Do you have any other preferences? "A warm climate" makes this tough to narrow down, other than obviously eliminating Michigan. Also, don't you have any better reasons for transferring? Please say that you do.

Hi. Yeah, sorry I was so vague about geography. I am currently in a warm climate. So no, it is not just about the weather. I prefer the SE part of the U.S. So that is why I am leaning towards Duke.

Average lows range from 18-62 in Ann Arbor, from 42-54 in Berkeley, and from 27-68 in Durham.

I think the answer is easy.

My vote would be for Duke although San Francisco would be a really great place to live for 3 years. Duke is extremely strong for big law -- and places well in NY, DC and CA.. and it is huge in the south in general. Michigan is awesome but cold
