Transfer Chances: Grade Trends

I was hoping some TLS users could offer an opinion on how substantial grade improvement can effect the chances of transferring. The general consensus seems to be that it doesn't matter/isn't considered by admissions departments at various law schools, and that only the final class-ranking matters. But would an extreme example at least raise eye brows and grab some interest?
I'm currently a student at a Tier-3,
Fall Semester: 2 C's, 2.55 GPA
Spring Semester: All A's, CALI award in Legal Writing, ended the year ranked in the top-third
I also landed a pretty solid 1L internship with the DA's office in L.A.
I know that the C's, and/or top-third alone will likely end any chances of transferring, but will the substantial change in grades make a difference? I applied to Loyola and USD (I know I want to work in California after graduation, preferably southern California) and I know that the odds are likely slim, but I figured it couldn't hurt to at least try.
I've read enough threads to know that many replies and users will tell me that "McGeorge is a terrible school, so are the others, you'll never get a job, your grades suck so just drop out," but I enjoy law school and that's not an option. I would really appreciate it if your responses helped me with this question, thank you!
