In at UC Hastings from top 10-15% at Santa Clara

Hi, I am a rising 2L who just found that he has been accepted to UC Hastings for the fall. Santa Clara posts their rankings late in the game but according to last year's rankings my gpa at 3.59 is around the top 15%. Can anyone at UC Hastings give me any idea about how transfers do at OCIs? This is one major factor I am considering. The other schools I applied to I probably wont get in (Berkeley, USC, UCLA) but if I do the decision won't be so hard.

No point transferring to UC Hastings. Their grads are struggling. Just stay at Santa Clara.

Not sure why you're dismissing your chances of getting into USC or UCLA.
To transfer into the T1 you need:
-top 10-20% at a T2
-top 5-10% at T3
-top 5% at T4

Please don't go to Hastings. You would be throwing away your achievements and any connections you have made with faculty.

And for what? Hastings? Hold out for USC/UCLA or don't transfer.

thank you for all the advice everyone. I have been communicating with many people and they all seem to disagree with you and say that transferring is a no-brainer for the long run. Thus I plan on waiting to hear if my scholarship was bumped up and if not I will likely transfer. However, I did make sure that committing to Hastings would not bar me from taking an acceptance from UCLA later on. (Just out of $300 bucks oh well) Thank you again for all your advice!

top 10-15% at Santa Clara is much better. Santa Clara has a pretty great regional pull. I would stay there and grind it out for a job.
