Renegotiating scholarships

Anyone here have any experience or knowledge about renegotiating scholarships at the current school?

I'm at a T50 and have been accepted to a T10. I'm waiting to hear back from a few T6 schools, but, based on older threads, won't hear anything for a week or two. I'm most likely going to transfer, but would reconsider if my current school offered a significantly increased scholarship. Any idea if I should begin the conversation with my current school now, or if I should wait until I (hopefully) have another acceptance in-hand?

Might as well get the ball rolling quick. When/if you get that T6 acceptance, you may have under a week to decide, and thats too short a time frame for your current school. Tell them know what your intentions are. T6 vs. T10 isn't going to make a difference to your current school. Either way, you would be gone. Be tactful and polite about it, since they may not take too kindly to the subject. But at the same time, don't feel guilty about asking. You don't owe them a thing, and you are merely a paying customer looking to get the best value.
