Berkeley grades for transfer admission

How would admissions committees evaluate Boalt grades? Do they actually use the HH (top 10%)/H (next 30%)/P (bottom 60%) = 5.0/3.0/2.0 GPA conversion that is used for clerkships? I have not seen a shred of solid data on this.
At OCI, big law firms just look at the number of H/HH, and if there are enough, give you a callback. They don't use the GPA conversion: someone with all H's is a MUCH better candidate than someone with just a few HH's and the rest P's, though the GPA would say otherwise.
My grades would be top 15% under the traditional grading system, but are merely top 25% at Boalt using this conversion because the curve that obscures achievement (a very high H is penalized at Boalt). Like many others at Boalt, I want to transfer to Y/H.
