Chances for low T14 to HYS

Current school is low-T14 with no money
UGPA: 3.80
LSAT: 167

My law school GPA should be between 3.835 and 3.890 (depending on one pending grade). Historically the cutoff for top 10% at my school is about a 3.7.

I'm interested in HYS and possibly Columbia. I have strong ties to CA and my primary motivation to transfer is clerkship opportunities.

Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated!

if clerkships are your motivation, then stay. youre shooting yourself in the foot to a degree by moving.

OP here: Just curious, why do you say that? That's contrary to other advice I got from professors and others.

You're probably going to be or already are on LR which you wouldn't be at CLS or HYS. Being at a T14 on LR with access to 1L profs for recommendations will be immensely helpful as the hiring plan continues to get fucked. IMO it would look better, especially since the school already has national name recognition, than being on a secondary at HYS with no grades/no faculty relationships.
