Top Law Schools

I'd ideally like to stay in Boston, both for law school and firm work.

I think I'm well set up for Boston jobs out of BC/BU with current grades, but wonder if future opportunities may be better with H diploma instead. Would lose 30K in scholly money x 2 years + increased tuition cost of ~7K, as well.

Thoughts??? Do I have a chance of getting in? If so, should I go?

Apply. Also, consider that you will receive need based aid (unless you're filthy rich).

OP here. I don't imagine I actually would qualify for aid. Thus, the cost difference would be about 37K per year, for two years.

Being completely serious, why do you (or anyone else) recommend transferring? What concrete improvement in career prospects would/could I expect in Boston firms with H rather than my BC/BU school (which has a great local reputation/alumni network, etc), all else being equal? How would it make a difference to me that's worth nearly $80,000 (plus interest, assuming the financial rewards would be in the future, not immediate since biglaw salaries for junior associates are basically the same everywhere in Boston)?

You should apply to both H and CCN. Even if you want to stay you can leverage the B (why do all of you write BU/BC when you are anon?) for more scholly or some sort of paid TAing position.

On alumni network, H's is far superior to Bs. In your situation I would prolly just make the play for more scholly and stay and get a sweet clerkship.

OP here. Thanks for the replies. One seems to lean toward transferring, the other away from it. Any further thoughts?

Also, why you say H's network is better, do you mean in general, or in Boston? Because in Boston my school's network seems quite good, and basically every firm has significant representation from it.

Also - further thoughts on how an H degree could concretely help me, say, 5-10 or more years into a career, such that it would justify the price increase now? Thanks.

Yeah I would apply and try to leverage. If you just want Boston biglaw, I would stay, but I think transferring would be rational because the extra money isn't that big of a deal in the long run.
