Columbia/NYU/Chicago - Pretty Good. If you're at a Chicago/NYC school then probably a yes.
Northwestern - Auto Admit?
Berkeley/Texas - Tend to like locals so depends on your origin
Vandy/Emory - Auto Admit

Thanks for the input. Is it even worth it for me to put in apps to HYS? What might my chances be? 5%? I do have regional ties to one of the three, would that make a difference?

HYS isn;t accepting someone from a school ranked in the 70-80 range so I wouldn't bother. My friend transferred there and said that nearly everyone is from a T14 or something pretty darn close, with just a select few who were #1 or 2 students at some lower T1's. CCN you definitely stand a good chance though, particularly NYU or Columbia due to the large transfer classes.

Not true. I know of people finishing number 1 or 2 out of all 1Ls at TTTT getting into Harvard. It's not nearly a sure thing, but certainly not a waste of time for OP to put in applications, especially to Harvard.

classic anecdotal story.
