TTTT vs. Emory

Post by Anonymous User » Wed May 08, 2013 12:56 pm

Currently at a TTTT and I will have my second and third year pretty much paid for. I was just accepted to Emory, obviously sticker.
Paying pretty much only living expenses vs. paying 47,000 + living expenses. Is name recognition worth that much?
Any advice/input would be wonderful. Thanks.

Hard to give advice if we don't know what you want to do. Would you be paying for Emory through loans? Have any kind of legal job lined up?

I want to do something in criminal law. Possibly US Attorney/FBI. I do not have any jobs lined up but will be interning over the summer with the Felony Division at the public defender's office just to start getting experience. My TTTT is in Florida and I want to stay in the FLA/GA area.

What's your class rank and how much are you paying at your TTTT? Did your TTTT throw money at you for your grades and if so, how much?

Top two percent. I started with a really good scholarship, but they are increasing it. If I stay I will only be paying $2,000 a year.

I can't really see any circumstances that would justify Emory for an additional 100k.

You have to think realistically... paying such an exorbitant amount of money to transfer to emory is simply not worth it. You're already at the top of your law school. Stick with it and you'll be much better off when you graduate. Don't transfer.

What if he's at Ave Maria? http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school= ... =employers

Top 1.2% only get State Clerkships and .6% in firms 101-250...

I'd generally agree with the advice above, but would be nice to know which school you're at.

That was probably the best decision.
