Submitted today, but still waiting on Dean Certs and transcripts, so I likely won't be complete until the end middle/end of next week, at the earliest.

QFFT. I just gave (or requested from) my registrar the certs for all of my transfer targets at once, so I lumped them all together.

About to submit my Penn application. What did y'all decide on the optional essays? My background is somewhat interesting, and I know I could do a good job on the values essay. Do you think those would give you any boost? Do they have to be submitted with the initial app or could they be added next week?

I decided not to. I don't know if it will give any bump, but if you really want to do it, then definitely do it. Better than wondering "what if?"

From what I understand from my conversation with the admissions office, the only things truly due today are the required sections of the application and (of course) payment. My guess is you can amend your application with optional essays until it's under review.

Thanks. Looking at the prompts, it looks like I can adapt a substantial portion of my main personal statement for the optional essay and use the extra space to better explain my reasons for transferring.

Do we have to send our 1L transcripts directly to Penn? Or is it okay just through LSAC?

They accept LSAC. I think most do. The only one that I've come across that doesn't is NYU. There are probably others.

NYU, Stanford are 2 that come to mind.

LSAC just processed my law school transcript today, so hopefully I'll go complete on Monday.

Just got an email saying that I am complete... Anyone under review yet?? Based on last year's thread, maybe we'll start seeing decisions next week??

Not even complete. I guess it makes sense since I submitted my ap before LSAC processed my transcript, so it may be a while before they get back to me.
