This "give us your word as a lawyer, or ur a scumbag" thing is pretty smart on their part though.

So, anyone who's thinking about housing but has no friends in the bay area yet, my classmate and I just took a 3 bedroom that's about 3 blocks away from the law school. PM me for details.

I checked last years Berkeley transfer thread about about 6 people said they were denied on July 5th, so maybe we'll hear something soon. BTW I've been under review since 6/18darkatillam2 wrote:Any news on the 2nd batch of acceptances?

Re: 2013 Berkeley Transfer Thread
There was a girl who transferred to Stanford from Hastings posting in here who seemed like she was saying "accept in good conscience at Berkeley, then if you get into Stanford, go to Stanford." You never know. Admits went out 7/17 last year, and I guess it's not totally inconceivable that they'll be nice and do it a bit earlier this year (the deadline for apps was 6/15 last year I think, and it was 6/14 this year?)
I don't think I'll get into stanford anyway - while I totally kicked 1L's butt, my school is pretty low ranked. Unless Stanford considers why you ended up at a poorly ranked school and favors splitters well, I don't see myself as having much of a shot. So it's kinda a no-brainer here.

Re: 2013 Berkeley Transfer Thread
Just wanted to pop in and say I've been rejected as hell from Berkeley. Not shocking, but I guess I thought they would at least throw me on a waitlist. I didn't really have the stats anyway, and it doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would, so there's that.

Agreed- I was already leaning toward staying at my current school. This makes the decision process MUCH easier!mss455 wrote:Which school sends out a series of dings before a holiday weekend -> Berkeley does!anonabon wrote:Just wanted to pop in and say I've been rejected as hell from Berkeley. I'm sending them my yes and law review signup tomorrow. T2/3->Berkeley is a no-brainer. Waiting for Stanford would be idiotic.brotherdarkness wrote:Alright guys, it's almost decision time. For those of you still waiting on other schools, what's your plan?

Re: 2013 Berkeley Transfer Thread
If it were me in that position, I'd probably still go. The debt terrifies me, too, but from everything I've heard, Berkeley transfers do pretty well (I know the ones that came from my school did) and it's just so hard to get into CA from anywhere but one of the top NY schools if you're not here already.brotherdarkness wrote:I'm at a lower T1 and have been offered a 75% scholarship, so I'm having a hard time with this decision. I'm from CA, would love to end up there, and likely can't get there from my current school, but the debt scares me (especially when biglaw isn't certain).
I don't know, I'd PM like everyone on last year's Berkeley transfer thread and ask them how they did at OCI if I were unsure.

I did, they told me that I wouldn't be able to do it until I'd confirmed my enrollment. If you have your login, though, you you should see it at the furthest left of the bearfacts portal.whynat wrote:Anybody having trouble finding & submitting the SLR form?

Yeah, I was told the same thing. I do have a log-in. The mybearfacts website is showing an error, though.

Ahh, looking closer at my email, this is the error I gotwhynat wrote:Thank you for replying.sap wrote:I did, they told me that I wouldn't be able to do it until I'd confirmed my enrollment. Yeah, I was told the same thing. I do have a log-in. The mybearfacts website is showing an error, though.
And they said (in addition to confirm your enrollment before complaining):We have encountered an error in determining your SLR status. Please contact the Office of the Registrar.
SLR dates not available for requested term.
Since we all got admitted the same day, I'd guess that they have the same timeline for everyone's materials, so I wouldn't worry about it unless it also isn't working tomorrow. The information needed for you to complete the SLR is being sent to the registrar's office, so you should be able to complete it by Wednesday of next week. Please let us know if you continue to have problems completing it after that time.
