If any of you guys are heading to Columbia, you can ask admissions for the regular admittance package. They give regular admits a binder and this massive massive tome of a thing (like atlas sized) with reading material inside.stillwater wrote:the one page was a let down. 1st world problems.zor wrote:So I finally got the admit packet and it was so disappointing! No folder? Just an advertisement book? No actual details on orientation, health insurance, the gym, housing, course selection, clinics, journals, student orgs, moot court? No actual information at all? I mean I know we have an internet, but come on, that's half the fun.
TTTT, man.
For what it's worth, I did laugh because the Columbia acceptance letter is just that--a letter. One page.
I think Harvard has a binder (no atlas sized package), could probably ask for one once we get on campus.

It's HLS. Do they really need to sell you? Will a folder and a logo USB make you choose them over Yale or SLS? I just don't see much impetus for them to gloss up an acceptance package.
Personally I'm surprised they go with more than a one-page letter (I know of at least one Stanford grad department that does this), but before internet status checkers they may have had some admits who didn't want to open the letter, assuming it was bad news, thus the inclusion of the booklet.

Re: Harvard Waiting Thread 2013
Hey all,
I am a former HLS transfer and wanted to post a housing option for an incoming transfer. My former roommate needs a new roommate to take my room now that I have graduated. We live directly across from HLS (about 30 second walk to class). 2 bed, 1 bath. The place is huge and fully furnished, has two common areas, a fireplace, and a sweet rooftop. Common statements upon entering include "wow this is the best apt I've seen" or "wow, this place is huge." The bedroom can come furnished as well. If you're interested, shoot me a message. The other roommate is a rising 3L Male. I know transferring is a FAST process and securing a place to live is tops on the list. Best of luck. Rent is around 1300 (not entirely sure if there is an increase).

Have you joined the FB group yet? I (a transfer from last year) have posted a lot of information on it; granted it might be dated for you all. PM me if you can't find it!stillwater wrote:any admits know anything about course selection?

Has anyone received any information on the Orientation August 9th? I haven't seen any more info about the event since the admission letter.

I *still* don't have my admissions letter or package. It was mailed out on the 9th according to my status checker
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
