Transfer T3 NYC- 3.5 gpa to.....???

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Jan 28, 2013 2:15 am

Hello
I am currently attending a T3 in NYC and have received a 3.5gpa after the first semester. Any suggestions on the transfer process, and realistic suggestions or possible chances for schools to transfer is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

The GPA is useless without knowing your class rank.

They don't give you class rank till end of year.
Probably 10-20% high to low estimate.

That's going to be a tough call. I would be very surprised if you got a T14 acceptance even if you end up at top 10%. Probably looking at the top 20 being a reach. If you are dead set on transferring but you are in the 20% range you should still look to schools that are in an area where you have some contacts/ties, not always the highest ranked. It's unlikely that transferring to a school in the range you are looking at (currently) will give a big enough jump in employment prospects where ties wouldn't be needed. Regardless, work as hard as you possibly can this semester if you feel you must transfer, because those grades can still improve and that's what will matter most.
