GPA/Rank or the actual grades themselves?

Some background: I did relatively well in the fall semester at my T30, 3.89 GPA, which historically should land me somewhere in the top 5%. However, I did get a B+ (torts nightmare), but salvaged that with an A+ in writing and Civ Pro, and an A- in Ks.

My question is, in your opinion/experience, do you believe admins and recruiters look at your overall GPA and class rank for determining transfer admission/SA offer, or do they place more importance on the individual grades themselves - such that my B+ is hanging off me like leprosy?

Thanks in advance for your responses, I appreciate it.

I don't think the B+ matters. There was someone who posted here my transfer cycle who was worried about this because s/he had a B and a bunch of A/A+ grades to even it out. They did just as well as they should have based on the GPA in terms of transfer school and SA.

First off, a B+ is not an atrocious grade, nor one that would generally need to be explained. If you're top 5% that's what matters, one grade does not. At the same time don't get too caught up in transferring, SAs (except maybe 1L SA) until you repeat the performance, or come close to it.

Overall.
