When transfers are looking at firm GPA medians, how do we compare them to our grades at our previous school?

I have heard from one person that some firms treat transfers as medians at their new school, can anyone back this up?

There is no set standard on this. But it depends on the school you transferred to and the school you came from. At the CCN I transferred into, transfers were treated far better at OCI than median students.

Too much to worry about, just apply strategically and you'll be fine.

I've heard:
-treated as median
-looked down upon
-treated as if you were still at your old school (different grade cutoff, or not looked at)

Just realize that employers will recognize the fact that you did well enough at your old school to be able to transfer, especially if you took a pretty big jump (ie - TTTT -> T1/T20/T14). Whether a specific employer will care if you were a "native" student or a transfer depends on the firm. You'll still have the marketing power of a JD from your new school once you graduate.

As for OCI bidding, my advice is to go for all the firms you don't mind working at. Cast as wide a net as you can, but remember that you will not do well at the interview if it's a place you have no desire to work at. (ie, if you really want big law, and you apply for the NGO only because it has a "2.5+ gpa requirement, you will probably not get an offer from them solely because you would probably suck at the interview due to disinterest).

Aside form OCI, better start emailing, and your cover letter should be directed as well if possible.
