Top Law Schools

So,

I'm currently working for a public interest firm and getting paid through my current school's law school's federal work study program. However, I am also transferring. I notified my school because I did not want to pay the fall semester tuition that I would be transferring and they apparently contacted financial aid and told them I was transferring. Financial aid sent me an email today withdrawing me from work study becuase I won't be returning to the school in the fall. This sucks. Is there any funding I can get for the rest of the summer? Volunteering is fine, but I'd like to get paid.

They really don't emphasize all the down sides of transferring, do they?

I would call Financial Aid and raise hell, in a polite and effective way. They stranded you in some foreign city with no pay! Or something.

Summer 2012 should still be part of the 2011-2012 school year. Seems like they shouldn't be allowed to retroactively pull aid from you which is basically what they are doing.

I had considered transferring or dropping out completely and spoke with the school about it and one of the first things they told me was that if I did either, they wouldn't fund my summer public interest work through work study. It's not right, but it seems like yours isn't the only school that does this.

Apparently working this summer is covered by this upcoming year so no pay. To top it off, I'm also working at my school's library at the counter and getting paid through the school. They're probably going to pull that as well unless I beg. So for people who are considering transferring, don't do work study!
