Top Law Schools

Top 1-5% at T30. In at UVA.

Would be giving up law review and a modest scholarship (would leave my current school with ~50k debt, compared to ~125k). My goal is to clerk and work in a firm in DC, Atlanta, or Richmond. These markets are in reach at my current school based on placement over the last few years.

Advice?

Is your T-30 in the same region as your target markets, if no I would say go. (Guessing you go to W&L) Have you compared the OCI attendance lists of the schools? Giving up Law Review is big as its something you have on your resume for years, but improving your school is legit as well. Also you want to practice in Richmond? Kinda odd for stats like you have, not sure more debt is worth Richmond.

I would think if you want to practice in current region and your school is not awful, there's no reason to give up everything from 1L year to incur more debt.
