as fun as it is to imagine my application in the UVA admissions office with "FATDUCK" written at the top in sharpie, i think it probably just reflects a major preference for VA residents

Yah, I was kidding with my suggestion. But how many top 2 percent Vandy kids applied to transfer there? There's a significant chance that information alone makes your application immediately identifiable.

Hm, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the non-residents...

How long were you UR before a decision?

Thanks for the congrats!

I got the acceptance this morning. For those of you that are curious I am from a T25 school, T15%, LR, and the key most likely, a resident. Not sure if those numbers will be a consolation or not.

Good luck to everyone. If you have any great insights on how transfers fare at UVA let me know!

Does anyone know when UVA is doing their EIW / when bidding ends for them? Seems pretty important to know for all of us still waiting. Thanks.

Dinged by email just now. #1 at 50s school.

Status checker now says: "Thank you for your application to transfer to Virginia Law. We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place in the class. Please check your email inbox for a message from Dean Richard."

Thus begins the downward spiral of depression as I so far have a waitlist from GTown and a rejection from UVA and nothing else.

Hang in there, man. You have good stats--you'll be ok.

Flan, sorry to hear that, but after acceptances to NYU and Penn (right?), UVA was probably a distant thought.

Then again, all these very good non-residents getting dinged doesn't bode well for the rest of us. I really love UVA and I have a few VA ties though, so we'll see

****At the moment, does anyone know when their bidding starts/ends? GULC may be a better option than UVA if UVA is done their bidding by the time I possibly get an admit

Yeah, I had already made up my mind I wouldn't go to UVA if in, so I was hoping to be able to reject them on behalf of my SO, who they rejected from the wait list last year (she also comprised my ties, such as they were).

I wouldn't give up hope necessarily. I think they are just trying to be judicious about admitting only those they really think are going to come (hence virtually everyone admitted so far was a VA resident). Obviously YP isn't an issue for transfer students, but they risk losing potential transfers if they give out admits to people who don't have much intention of going.

Any accepted students who need housing PM me. One of my roommates just got into NYU and now we're out a roommate.

Looking for a very clean, responsible (but fun) roommate in a townhouse behind Ivy Gardens. The other roommate is a Darden student.
