Will dropping my summer class hurt my chances?

I am at a TT that has a good reputation and I am looking to transfer to 3 schools. One that is just in the top 50, one that is around 53, and one that is a TTT (for personal reasons).

Im in a summer class and it looks like I might have to go home this summer to help out my family. Two of the schools that I am applying to only accept at most 30 credit hours, so the class wont even count at the new schools.

I submitted my apps today and will be requesting transcripts tomorrow (I know I should have done this first but I am waiting on a grade). If I drop the class late next week do you guys think that I will kill my chances of transferring?

Thanks

this just happened to me. In at a Tier 2 Ive been sick for the last two weeks and had to drop my summer course, but before I did i made sure that i wasn't going to end up with a W on my transcript cause im trying to transfer. My school confirmed that no W will appear and i dropped it. My record shows nothing of the summer class on the transcript so it shouldn't be a problem but you should check with your school to make sure.

If you end up getting a W it could be a problem im guessing...they may ask why...you can send an amendment as to the reasons, and try and emphasize that this is just a summer class and not a required one like in the fall...they should understand.....

check your drop deadlines though...there is a certain point that after you drop you get a straight W. Hope it works out for you bro.
