Hey everyone. Quick question regarding transcripts and the transferring process (couldn't find much on the Forum Search, but maybe that's because I took a civpro test this afternoon and am fried):

LSAC has the transcripts I submitted to them originally, both from my UG degree-granting institution and the local university from which I took classes while in high school. The one from my degree-granting institution on file with LSAC, however, is only current through 7 semesters (ie, when I applied to Law Schools) out of 8 (I sent the official, completed-8-semesters-you-got-a-degree-transcript directly to my law school).

Do I need to submit the completed transcript, showing my 8-semester UGPA and the fact that I was, indeed, awarded a degree, to LSAC? If, as I assume, that is so, what's the protocol for "updating" a transcript? I can't find anything on the website to "update" transcripts; do they do this automatically? Will schools accept them directly? (this last option would obviously be more of a hassle, sending an individual transcript to any school I might apply to, but would remove the LSAC processing time and assure more directly that it got there)

I'd appreciate advice from anyone, especially people who applied as 0Ls before they received their degrees (ie K-JDs).

More or less, never mind: I see that (tucked away, by my standards, but still) LSAC does say to just send it and it will be updated. First thing I do after exams will be contacting my UG and getting transcript updates sent. That might be cutting it close for June 15 deadlines, but should be there way in advance of July 1.

I couldn't find the information either so I just had transcripts sent to their address. They figured it out, I guess. Also, it is early May. How is anything cutting anything close for mid-June deadlines?

Ah, I just meant, I'm not going to be done with finals and ready to focus on non-finals stuff until Mid-May, and then there'll probably be about a week delay for my UG institution to get transcripts ready, then time in the mail, then some sort of processing time at LSAC... I'd rather feel motivated to move fairly quickly on this stuff, even if the motivation is self-created anxiety

My undergrad and law school both have easy online forms that cost nothing. I'm guessing you have to go through some old-fashioned signed form process?

On a related note, am I reading NYU correctly that they require an actual transcript sent directly from the undergrad institution? Even if this is already included in the materials sent from LSAC?

I sent everything I could and I will wait if they tell me I am "missing" that document... if I stay as incomplete after my 1L grades, then I will send it on down.
