Some transfers put "invited to law review" on their resume for OCI. I didn't do this (even though I wrote on at old school) since I think it comes off as kind of pretentious and employers really don't care. So in your situation, I don't think there is any reason to punish yourself with a writing comp -- but I would definitely do it if I didn't have an acceptance yet (OP).crossarmant wrote:Exact same boat. Can you explain this a little more? I already have an EA acceptance, but I completed in write on over spring break. If I made LR, I was planning on putting it on my resume. Why would it be considered pretentious and why wouldn't employers care? I don't know if I agree with the other poster that it would be pretentious. Most of the transfers I knew put it on the resume for OCI. I think if you did a write-on, that's fine, as long as you don't leave it on past 2L OCI. I don't think you should if it wasrockthered86 wrote:Can you explain this a little more? If you already did the competition, go ahead and add it if you want -- I don't think it would hurt you. My point is that adding an "invited to LR at old school" resume line has such minimal value that if you already have your acceptances in hand it's not worth going through the competition afterward just for shits (most schools don't have their competitions as early as yours did).Wholigan wrote:I don't know if I agree with the other poster that it would be pretentious. purely grade-on, though. I agree employers might care a bit less than if you are actually doing LR since then it's not something they can use to advertise you to clients.
I have just completed a comment to write onto law review, and it is due in a couple of days. I could get lucky, though, and transfer, get onto law review at the new school, and recycle my unpublished comment. That would be lovely.

They will give your position to someone else.
