I don't know the numbers, but my gut says that you have zero shot at the T14.

Apply to Duke if that's your dream school. Much may depend upon the number of spots available in the 2L class.

Regardless, a 3.6 at Emory is not exactly a bad place to be sitting.

Didn't only something like 20 percent of their class get an NLJ250 job according to the most recent data? Sure, maybe not a bad place to be sitting, but I would be scared.

I don't see how placement in the NLJ250 affects transfers. Unless you have stats to back that up?

You are top 25%, not top 22.

Probably no shot at transferring with that rank.

Hypothetically, I'd apply to HYS for sure, and CCN if you want to work Chicago or NYC biglaw. Anything outside those schools would be wasting your opportunities at Emory, IMO. Others may reasonably disagree, though.

Also, my advice assumes sticker at Emory. Significant scholarship and/or career aspirations could make all the difference here.

I was under the impression SLS gave out hugs not grades, but I'm way too lazy to look it up.

If you're near sticker, I'd still avoid transferring to a school any lower than about the T6, unless one of those schools is your dream school or whatever. And like I said above, I'd hesitate to go to CCN unless you want biglaw in NYC or Chicago. You should be in an excellent position to clean up at Emory's OCI for those jobs anyway.

The only reason I can think of to transfer to CCN would be to increase clerkship or academia chances. You should be in a great position to clerk at the district and maybe circuit level if you lay the proper groundwork over the next couple years (professor relations, membership and publication on LR, etc.) at Emory. You would arguably increase your chances at the circuit level by killing it at CCN, but you're probably not going to get a SCOTUS clerkship as a transfer to anywhere (HYS included). You could arguably increase chances at academia if you were at a T6, but again, it's a crapshoot in the first place. I wouldn't leave behind a lot, if I were you.
