At some point you are going to have to ask.
That's what I'll be wrestling with. I'm really not even sure when I'd bring it up.

Is it a big firm. Do they have GWU graduates? I would wait until your grades for this semester come out and then break it to them, so you know where you are going.

I will be at a regional office at a relatively good sized firm. No GW grads at my office, but a few grads at the firm.

Still waiting on a decision? Don't fret! I just spoke to someone in the admissions office and they told me that my app has not yet been reviewed by the committee. There is still hope...

When was your app submitted and when did you go complete? This waiting/fretting is distracting the hell out of me at work.

How is transfering to a better school going to hurt your chances at getting that job again?

I'd imagine if it's farther away, they have rapport with the school, houses former grads, etc. Moving to go to GW may come across as turning one's back on a school that those firm members may have gone to. At least, what I'd assume.

Is my thought.

Though I would eventually like to have at least the opportunity to move to another office -- something a degree from my TT could not achieve (too regional). I don't think I'd offend anyone at the office since only like 2 people graduated from my law school there.

Unfortunately, they did not. I'm guessing the committee meets on a designated day each week to review applications (Tuesdays?).

Just got my admissions packet today.

For some reason I can't get the Admitted Student Portal site to work. Putting in my LSAC # and my birthday and nothing.

Not really.

Just their viewbook, a letter from the dean, and how to access certain sites. We can't speak with Career Services until we send in our deposit. lulz.

I just found out how I am going to pay the $1,000. I just got my $1,000 education tax credit from the government. Thanks, Obama, for helping me pay law school seat deposits!

I know we have at least one current GW student around in this thread, so hoping someone can answer this: do you have to be in DC for the journal write-on? I see the dates were listed in the packet, but I have an internship that will have me nowhere near DC this summer, so I'm figuring we can do it electronically. This may be another new thing for GW, since it's the first time it's done EA for transfers, but figured I'd ask.
I know, I know, I could just ask GW, but that takes all the fun out of random internet speculation, doesn't it?

Any news, MakeItHappen3? I know I was anticipating some action occurring on a Tuesday...

Much to my chagrin, no. I was really hoping to hear something. Maybe give them a call and ask? I would if not for the fact that I bothered them enough last week.

Packet finally came in the mail today.

I wonder if the people who get the later decisions are going to have to deposit by April 30th as well, that'd suck for them to have a shorter period than the others.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Admissions Office told me this afternoon that EA transfer applications are now being reviewed by the committee on a rolling basis. Thoughts? Anyone get a ding email yet?

Just called admissions office, the rest of the decisions won't be out until the end of next week. Funny, they told me the same thing last thursday.
