hi!

i currently go to a school ranked btwn 45 and 55, and i'm hoping to transfer to georgetown.. the problem is i don't know if i should apply early action

my first semester gpa is 3.63 (A in contracts, A- in torts, B in civpro, A in LRW)... the problem is, my school doesn't rank first semester, so i won't know my class rank until june

does anyone have any idea how competitive i would be to try to transfer early action? or should i just wait for regular transfer deadlines?

thanks in advance for any insight you can give me :)

If you are going to apply to Georgetown anyway, apply now...

If they don't accept you EA, they automatically defer you to RD.

Your chances are slim for being admitted EA, but you have a better chance after deferment.
Good luck.

Just to make sure, EA at GULC is non-binding, right?

it's non-binding... i just wonder if it's one of those things where if you don't get in EA, they probably dont want you RD

For that response, I refer you to http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=146181

If I remember correctly, many people that were deferred were accepted. I just wasn't one of them :D

If it's non-binding you should apply. Top 15% is competitive for an ED decision.

This way you hedge your bets. If you do poorly your second semester (always a possibility) you already have a seat at GULC. If you don't apply ED you may not have a chance at being accepted.

At the same time: If you do well your second semester you can still apply to other schools and see what else is out there.

You have nothing to lose. Good Luck!

For Georgetown does it give you an advantage to apply EA, get rejected and put into the Regular cycle this summer, or is it better to just apply once in the summer. I'm really struggling with deciding if I should apply EA or just wait til summer.

Georgetown doesn't "reject" EA apps, they are all deferred or accepted. You don't have to submit apps twice.

Whether it is an advantage; maybe...they say the earlier you apply to anything that is rolling admissions gives you an advantage.

You probably won't get in EA, but have a shot RD. Apply now anyway. Rolls over so you have nothing to lose.
