Do LSAT/GPA truly matter?
My undergrad GPA was 3.14 (Top 15% in my graduating class but had a lot of shitty community college grades way back when) and my LSAT was 162.
Now I am number 2 at a schol in the T30's and am looking at my transfer options next semester if I keep up my 3.889 GPA.
My question is how far up the T14 will my shitty undergrad/lsat scores preclude or hinder me?
Thanks!

they wont matter... LSAT/UGPA were proxies for law school performance. You now have actual grades so that's what they look at

That seems to go against a lot of the wisdom specifically on the holy trinity. Even in the Arrow post it says that Y/S care. Is this outdated or just warning that ***really*** bad lsat/GPAs might matter?

They won't matter. Even though I think H says they do, they won't.
Number 2 at a T30 should be good for H.

was 5% at a t35
i go to SLS now. no idea if that qualifies as "really bad," but if most of the transfer class went to non t14s then i would guess very few of us had competitive numbers for SLS in the first place...

99% of transfer admissions is based on a combination of law school GPA, and the quality of the school you are coming from. Sure, at the very periphery they might look at an undergrad transcript (only 1 school I applied to as a transfer requested this info), but it is highly unlikely. As someone said, law schools admit incoming students based on LSAT and undergrad GPA because they try and use it to determine how the student will do in school. Once they have actual law school grades on file, they have no need for such a proxy.
And FYI, if you stay within the top 5 people or so at your T30, you will have a solid shot at H. They will only care about your law school GPA anyway, which will undoubtedly be great if you keep up the good work.

If you're talking about HYS specifically they might care a little bit on the margins (i.e. they'll take a look at it)... In the end its 90% what your grades were in 1L year tho, so don't worry about it.dtl wrote:That seems to go against a lot of the wisdom specifically on the holy trinity. Thanks to everyone for the quick replies. That takes a large weight off my shoulders. Now I just need to repeat last semester's miracle and see where I land.
