Top Law Schools

I've a bit of a dilemma as to whether transferring might be a good idea.

The basics:
º Probably somewhere between top 2%-4% at MVPB (rankings aren't released, but given where past 1Ls with my GPA ended up, I'll making this educated guess).
º Paying sticker price at my current institution.
º Want to clerk after graduation.
º Undecided between firm life or academia after clerking.

My intuition is that transferring to HYS, if accepted at any of the three, is probably a good idea for my own situation. With that said, I've been informed that, for clerkships, it might actually be better to stay where I'm at, as top or near top of the class at MVPB might open up more clerkship opportunities than wherever I'd finish at HYS.

Any thoughts? Is my original intuition correct?

How I think of it: if you grade/write-on to LR at the end of the year, stay. If you don't, consider YS.

If you are paying full price, you might as well transfer to HYS.
