Top Law Schools

Synopsis:
- Wanted Pitt out of undergrad
- Median level scores
- Dinged via some personal issues
- Took scholly at local T4 (don't hate it, just not where I want to be)
- Work for a law firm now (can't hurt right?)

I have a clear cut, non-expiring job offer in Pitt making over six figures starting the day after I pass the bar. What I want to know is: what type of grades should I be looking at to transfer to Pitt? Just got my first semester grades back and got a 3.44. Cannot find curve information for my school, but what should I be shooting for grades wise?

you're going to need curve information for us to really be able to give you a sense of it, otherwise there is no basis of reference for what your grades mean. you won't be compared with other transfer applicants on your numerical gpa, just class rank relative to other applicants.

i would say if you're top 15-20% you probably have a decent shot.

Why do you want to transfer if you have a decent job guaranteed and have a scholarship?

I go to a private school, so it's still kind of pricey even with my scholarship. Pitt was my goal, but I would also look further up the rankings to Penn State (close enough in PA) since I just found out my GPA now has me in the Top 10%.

Also, would there be a difference on the bar exam from somewhere in the south as opposed to Pennsylvania?
