Need Advice on Transferring Please!

Hi guys!
I'm not sure if this has been asked before but I'm thinking about transferring out. I am now a 2L and have taken 2 summer classes beyond my 1L year. My gpa was not that high but I did manage to have a summer internship position. The school I am attending is petty bad to say the least (no its not Cooley). I guess my question is, a lot of the schools require transfer students to be in the top 1/3%, would me NOT being in the top 1/3% automatically cause them to not even look at my application? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks guys.

It is too late to transfer out. You can't transfer after 2L year (which is what you would have to do seeing as you missed this past transfer cycle).

No, I think you misunderstood. I am only 5 credits into my 2L year, and since some schools allow you to transfer in the Spring- I was wondering whether me not being in the top 1/3% would cause the admissions individuals to not even look at my application?

You are likely right that just by virtue of not being in the top 1/3, almost no school will consider your transfer application. So I really wouldn't focus on transferring, since it is so unlikely to happen. And what schools do you know of that accept transfers in the spring of their 2L year?

The transfer deadlines for this year have passed. Unless you take a year off from law school, transferring won't be possible (not without losing all credits you earn anyway).
If you are going to a pretty bad school, I will assume it is a TTT or TTTT school. From such a school, transferring to a T2 might be possible with top 50% grades (T2s tend to lose a lot of people but you will probably be a long shot). With that said, the chances are not great, and you will not get admission this cycle. Plus, paying sticker as a transfer at a T2 is not a particularly great option either.
Hopefully you have a scholarship (that you don't lose) at your school. Otherwise, you should evaluate whether you really want to continue your education. If you choose to keep at it, good luck. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
