Decisions round 2.

Here are my choices. I am definitely going to transfer, but I am having trouble deciding where.

1. St. John's (now Brooklyn, just got accepted) My wife is going here, and has an almost full scholarship for undergrad and is ready to start. She is fine with Portland or SF, but for her sake, this seems like a good choice. I am also waitlisted at Cardozo, Rutgers-Newark and Brooklyn, so if I got off the wait list I could easily change schools, and Cardozo is my first choice.

2. Lewis & Clark. The highest ranked school, and one of the best in the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up. I would not mind living and starting here.

3. University of San Francisco. My undergraduate school. I loved SF and miss it terribly sometimes. Lower ranked school than the other 2.

Congrats on Brooklyn!! So obviously you will be attending while holding out for Cardozo? That would be my choice, rather than moving across the country and disrupting your wife's education for a school of the same rank.

Are you equally as interested in practicing in NY as you are out west?

Thank you. I was in NYC yesterday to tour Cardozo and show a lot of interest. We are both very excited about NYC, and I think I am going to go to Brooklyn. Portland was pretty temping, and I loved living in SF, but the move would be somewhat difficult and expensive and we already have a temporary place in NYC to stay. Practicing in NYC would be a dream come true to me, as I have wanted to live in NYC for a very, very long time.

It looks like you have your answer then! I've been following your cycle and I'm SO thrilled for you. NYC will be amazing!!

I'm also transferring from a T4 to T2(deciding between 2 schools, but doing a law review write on for one of them and if I make it that will be my decision). They certainly aren't T14, but I am very excited about the way that all of this has turned out.

Portland is such a small market and a hard one to break into even with connections. I have a handful of friends from LC and nearly half are still jobless. So, I voted Brooklyn. Plus you'll be closer to your wife.
