T2 + top10% + LR ($$$) v. Wash U

Subject line says it all. I'm top 10% at a t2 school that dominates a midsize city, with slightly less than $30k a year. I graded on to Law Review and have excellent relationships with the professors. I split first summer clerking for a federal judge and working for a firm.

But Wash U is a top 20 school, ~ a full tier higher. Thoughts?

If you're happy working in that city, stay. Not sure Wash U is worth the extra $60K at least

Are you from Saint Louis? Do you not want to work in the city you are currently attending school? How does your OCI look at the school you are at, and have you been building network connections in your market? I'm not sure WUSTL would be worth it unless you have ties to Saint Louis. Our OCI list isn't great, with 25% of the unique employers coming on campus being from Saint Louis. There's some big name chicago firms coming, but I'd imagine they're only going to take a couple from WashU, if that. The off campus deadlines have passed, but I'm not sure if transfers get an extension.

I would stay unless you get into vandy or better.

It is likely that you will get a biglaw/midlaw job with those stats. Also 30k a year scholarship is nothing to sneeze at.

Wustl's OCI isn't that great.

Vandy? Hah, I'd stay unless you got T10.
