Just wondering what class rank one would need to be in contention for a transfer from a lower top 10 into HYS, particularly S.

Chances are if you're high enough to transfer safely, it might not make sense to go there from a T10 school.

i would guess that transferring from columbia would be viewed differently than transferring from WUSTL (no offense to WUSTL, a solid school). i've been told that top 10% from a T6 is pretty safe for S (or is at least very likely to get in). thoughts? i would also imagine that top 10% from WUSTL or GWU is likely out at S.

to straight up answer your question, my guess is that top 20% from lower T10 gives you a shot at S, top 5% gets you in for sure, and nobody knows about being in between.

There's almost never a valid reason to transfer from a lower top 10 to HYS. In other news, if you're not a 0L, you're explicitly no supposed to be asking dumb shit questions like this (see, e.g., http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=124519)
