The fact that I'm paying full price at my current school is one of my main reasons for wanting to transfer up. I feel like it would be awkward to go into the financial aid office and ask for money not to transfer though. Any tips?
Email the dean and ask if it's possible to get a scholly. Explain how much you love your school and would rather stay and the money would make a difference.

That seemed to work for me. I just said I wanted to speak with you (Dean) about potential scholarship opportunities. Then I briefly stated that "I wanted you to know that I have received a transfer acceptance and I am considering a move next fall. However, I have truly enjoyed my experience at X school and would ultimately like to complete my degree here."

I haven't received one yet but she didn't write back a pissed off defensive email so I'm guessing that worked.
