Waitlist Wonderland

I was waitlisted at a college that Nando of TTR refers to as Crooklyn. I would not be opposed to going to this school, as with my numbers, I feel that it is better than I could have expected in some ways. I e-mailed them back stating my interest and they replied. They stated the waitlist will exist until the day class starts, but not living in NYC, I feel that having to move that close to school starting may be massive burden. Are there any tips one could give about getting off a waitlist? Has anyone else been waitlisted with transfers, and if so, how long does it usually last? Any particular experience with Brooklyn's waitlist?

If you're able to make a day trip into NY, setting up a campus visit for the name-to-face effect is never a bad strategy. See if you can arrange to meet briefly with an actual admissions official, as opposed to a student rep or tour guide or whatever.

This is a great idea, I like it. I am thinking of doing this with Fordham or Cardozo too. As for meeting with an admissions officer, what would I say? Just ask some questions about the school to show interest?
